Mollie Ann Young, 51, a Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 23, 1955 in Parkston, South Dakota, the daughter of Donald & Rosie Fuerst Asche.
Mollie was raised and attended grade and middle school in Scotland, SD after which her family moved to Portland, Oregon and she attended Concordia Lutheran High School for three years until returning to graduate from Scotland High School with the class of 1974. During her senior year at Scotland H.S. Mollie was a state champion baton twirler and instructor.
Mollie was united in marriage to David Young in Scotland, SD on June 20, 1975. She attended Dakota Weslyn University in Mitchell, SD, receiving a degree in Education, and then obtained a Masters Degree in Education from Leslie College.
In 1991 Mollie and her family came to Sedro-Woolley and for the past 15 years she has been a first and third grade teacher at Big Lake Elementary School.
She was a member of His Place Church in Burlington.
Her interests included reading, collecting children’s books, quilting and traveling.
Mollie is survived by her husband of 31 years, David, at the family home in Sedro-Woolley. Her children, Jason Young and his wife Jolene and their daughter, Ana of Sedro-Woolley, Jennifer Hay and her husband, Travis of Ellensburg and Jonathan Young and his wife, Shannon of Vancouver, WA.
Her mother, Rosie Asche of Sedro-Woolley; two brothers, Chuck Asche and his wife Pat of Sioux Falls, SD and Tim Asche and his wife Sue of Scotland, SD and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Asche.

A Life Celebration for Mollie will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 3:30 PM at the Sedro-Woolley High School Auditorium with Pastor Dennis Spinney of the Big Lake Church of the Nazarene officiating. Private family interment with Pastor John Birk of His Place Church officiating, will be at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Visitation available at and arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
