Olin E. Frizzell

OLIN E. ‘SWEDE’ FRIZZELL, 72, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away on Saturday October 2, 2004.
He was born on February 1, 1932 in Sylva, North Carolina, the son of Jake & Berdell Queen Frizzell. Olin made his home in North Carolina until 1946 when the family moved to Sedro-Woolley where he was raised and completed his education.
On May 29, 1952 he was united in marriage to Lois Gaspard in Sedro-Woolley, and there they made their home and raised their family. Olin was a carpenter in the home construction industry in Skagit County for many years.
Swede loved cars, and along with his brothers was a part of the NHRA Champion Frizzell Brothers Racing Team with their race car ‘Suddenly’. He has also been a longtime member of the Eagles.
Olin is survived by his nine children, Dennis Frizzell and his wife, Audrey of Sedro-Woolley, Gail Spurrier of Omak, Laura Sanders and her companion, Randy Ensley of Sedro-Woolley, Susanne Durkee and her husband, Mark of Wasilla, AK, Dale Frizzell and his wife, Jenie of San Diego, CA; Alan Dean Frizzell and Jennine Frizzell and her companion, Dale DeLano of Sedro-Woolley, Kenneth Frizzell and his fiance, Gwyn Govern of Sedro-Woolley and Rhonda Dugan of Sedro-Woolley. 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. 4 brothers, Roy Frizzell and his wife, Alice and Carl Frizzell and his wife, Sharon of Sedro-Woolley, Maurice ‘Queenie’ Frizzell and his wife, Corrine of Ritzville, WA and Ray Frizzell and his wife, Lou Anne of Tombstone, AZ. 2 sisters, Sue Sullivan and her husband, Joe of Norco, CA and Jolline Brawley and her husband, Stan of Burlington, and numerous nieces and nephews. Olin was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Lois in December of 2003 and by 2 brothers, Curtis in 2000 and Leston in 1995.
Swede’s family suggest memorials be made to North Puget Oncology.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 6, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley followed by interment services at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery.
