Paul S. ‘Steve’ Conner, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at his home in Sedro-Woolley, WA with his family at his side.
He was born on August 16, 1940 in Bellingham, WA, the son of Andrew and Lucille Lemmer Conner.
Steve was a lifetime resident of Skagit County, growing up in the Edison area and graduated from Burlington Edison High School in 1959.
He has been a resident of Sedro-Woolley for the past 12 years, working for Barnett Implement in Ag sales for 21 years, retiring in February of this year. Steve enjoyed working in his yard, caring for his flowers and plants, wood working, hunting and trap shooting. He was the youngest life member of the Edison Sportsman Club.
Steve was married to Judith Dykes on July 10, 1993 in Reno, NV.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Conner of the family home in Sedro-Woolley. His children, Scott Conner and his wife Inger of Sedro-Woolley, Sheri Bono and her husband Pete of Burlington, Bryan Dykes of Marysville, Jeff Dykes and his wife Rhonda of Ben Wheeler, TX, Jason Dykes of Sedro-Woolley, and Chris Dykes and his wife Cindy of Mount Vernon. 5 grandchildren, Brittany, Kaylee, Courtney, Katie, and Dalton. A brother, Ted Conner and his wife Cheryl of Bow, a sister, Andrea Rogers and her husband Mike of Sedro-Woolley. His mother-in-law, Kathryn Curry of Sedro-Woolley and 3 aunts, Irene Streeter of Burlington, Josephine Nelson and her husband Archie of Burlington and Kathrine Grenbaum of California. Also numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Sharon, and a nephew Dennis Conner.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 17, 2006 at 11:00AM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with interment to follow at the Bow Cemetery. A reception will follow at the family home. Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, July 16, 2006 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lemley Chapel.
