Phyllis L. Moran, age 83, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008 at her son’s home in Concrete, WA. She was born March 20, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois to Phillip and Elsie Zahnow Thompson.
Phyllis grew up in Minnesota until moving to Bellingham with her family where she attended school. While attending Bellingham High School , she was Blossom Time Festival Queen. She was married to Calvin Moran in Bellingham in 1941 and they resided there until moving to Sedro-Woolley in 1955. Phyllis worked as a bookkeeper for her husband’s logging company MST Logging Co. She enjoyed sewing working in her flower garden, and loved to entertain family and friends.
Phyllis is survived by her son; Dennis Moran and his wife Evonne of Concrete and 2 daughters; Judy Greenough and her husband Russell of Coer d’ Alene, ID and Deborah Wolf of Bellingham. 7 grandchildren; Kimberly Fuller, Brent Moran, Kristin Sanchez, Douglas, Mike, and Dusty Greenough, and Eric Wolf. 8 great grandchildren; Bradley and Amber Corcoran, Jesse Moran, Makenzie Moran, Jade Sanchez, Aila and Haley Greenough, and Haley Olzewski. 2 sisters; Elaine Scott of Sedro-Woolley and Naomi De Golier of Bellingham. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Calvin in 1991, and a brother Leon Thompson.
