Raymond “Ray” Olaf Jensen, age 86, of Concrete, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Mira Vista, in Mount Vernon.

Ray was born April 28, 1930 in Somers, Montana, to Jens and Jensine (Pettersen) Jensen.  He graduated from high school in Kalispell, Montana.  He served as an Army Paratrooper, and Base Supply Sergeant.  Ray attended the University of Montana, in Missoula, receiving his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.  While attending college on the G. I. Bill, he also worked at a feed mill and after college stayed there, working his way to Assistant Manager.  In 1957, he married Allie Freedle in Missoula.  He later worked for Norco Products, a furniture manufacturer, as the Controller and Chief Financial Officer.

Ray is survived by his wife, Allie Jensen; children, Karin Jensen-Smith and Dale Eric Jensen and his wife, Brenda; grandchildren, Aaron Smith, Erica and Oscar Jensen; great grandson, Landon Riley Smith; sister, Celia Meadows; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jens J. and Jensine O. Jensen and son, Douglas Scott Jensen.

A Funeral Service, with Military Honors will be held at 1:00, Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley, Pastor Eric Wangen-Hoch presiding.  Ray’s final resting place will be next to his son, in Missoula, Montana.

    I did not know Ray as well as I should have, but I do know I liked him, very much.
