Rebecca “Becky” Whaley

Rebecca “Becky” Anne Williams Whaley, 61, of Everett went to be with her Lord on May 19, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Becky was born in Burlington, WA on May 27, 1950 to James Leon and Maxine Hazel Williams. Maxine remembers Becky as being a generous, hard working child.
Becky graduated from Union High School in Sedro-Woolley, WA in 1968, later attending Skagit Valley College and North Seattle Community College. Becky found her true calling by following her mother in the nursing profession. After years of nursing with Group Health Cooperative in Seattle, Becky opened her home and her heart to numerous elderly patients. They flourished under her kind care and each resident soon became as close as family.
Becky married Paul Whaley in 1970; although the marriage did not last their friendship has endured. Becky and Paul had two children Jason Paul and Gillian Anne. Becky was an amazing mother who kept a close relationship with her children. One of Becky’s favorite roles was that of Grandma. Becky was so proud of her grandchildren, Isaac, and Mateo. Becky always had a great love for animals and cared for many pets during her life time.
She is survived by her mother, Maxine Williams; her son, Jason Whaley; her daughter, Gillian Whaley; her grandsons, Isaac, and Mateo Whaley; her sister, Teresa Taylor (Lloyd); two brothers, Dan Williams (Cindy) and Lenny Williams, five nieces, four nephews and nine great-nieces and nephews.
Becky was preceded in death by her father James L. Williams.
She will be remembered for her fiery wit, acceptance of others, her giving nature and her strong empathy for everyone.
At Becky’s request a private family graveside service will be held at the Burlington Cemetery where Becky will rest in peace by her beloved father. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.

I remember Becky and Teresa taking me into the bathroom and fixing up my hair. We had everyone in stitches. Our prayers are with all of you at this time.
