Richard S. ‘Dick’ Stephenson, age 66, passed away Monday, September 3, 2007 at his home in Sedro-Woolley, WA. He was born December 19, 1940 in Sedro-Woolley, WA, the son of Lester and Eva Bennett Stephenson.
Dick, a lifetime resident of Sedro-Woolley grew up in Sedro-Woolley attending school and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1959. He owned and operated Boyd’s Radiator Repair in Burlington for 25 years. Dick was married to Reta Mahaffie on October 8, 1983 in Sedro-Woolley.
Dick was a member and past president of the Sedro-Woolley Eagles and a founder of the lawnmower Association of Skagit County. He enjoyed playing softball, golf, watching sports of all kinds, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Reta Stephenson of the family home in Sedro-Woolley.
His children, Kirk Stephenson and his wife Amy and their children Josh, Jessie, Jace, and Jett of Sedro-Woolley, Kelly Stephenson and her children Stephanie, Katie, and Ricki of Sedro-Woolley, Lisa Mast and her husband Jeremy and their children Brady, Cassidy, and Grayson and Matthew Mahaffie and his wife Heather and their daughter Annalise of Burlington. A brother and sister-law, J.T. and Darlene Mathis of Orofino, ID and special friends, Dennis and Bev Weathers of Bow. Numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Betty Jean Stephenson, a brother Steve Stephenson, and his former wife Beth Stephenson.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 3:00PM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. A reception will follow the services at the Sedro-Woolley Eagles. Memorials are suggested to North Puget Oncology or Skagit Hospice.
