Roald Strand, age 79, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, Washington.
He was born on February 4, 1929 in Aberdeen, Washington to Peter and Aagot Eide Strand.
Roald was a former long time resident of Seattle and for the past 4 years has resided in Sedro-Woolley. He served with the US Army for 3 years and later worked as a construction engineer constructing power plants on the upper Skagit River and since moving to Sedro-Woolley, he had worked as a caretaker at Riverfront Park. As a young man he played tenor sax and had an affinity for jazz music.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Riverfront Park. Arrangements under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
