Robert “Bob” Jackson

Robert “Bob” Jackson

Friday, April 1st, 2016

Robert “Bob” Jackson, 70, of Sedro-Woolley, passed away at home March 31, 2016. Bob was born September 2, 1945 in Illinois. As a youngster, he was adopted by Leslie and Alice Jackson of Castleford, ID.
Once adopted, Bob settled into the good life of a farm boy living in rural Idaho. After high school graduation, Bob enrolled in the US Navy, serving 7 years. During that time, he met and married the mother of his son, Lorene Jackson. Following discharge, Bob & Lorie settled in Sedro-Woolley and he started pursing his insurance career. He was a proud Farmers Insurance Agent for over 45 years. His customers were his passion. Even after “retiring,” Bob could be found in the office every day, most weekends too.
When he wasn’t at the office, Bob could be spotted cruising his little convertible with a cup of coffee in hand and a keno ticket in his pocket. Social hour at McDonalds was a must before he could start his day! He looked forward to his casino dates with Wanda and the chance of winning big. He lived for spending time with Brian and his grandsons. Whether it be watching a movie with the boys or assisting with yet another project around the farm, he was happy to be a part of it. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing with his son. He will be greatly missed.
Bob is survived by his loving girlfriend, Wanda Twining of Alger; son, Brian Jackson (Tori) of Sedro-Woolley; 3 grandsons, Tavin, Paxton & Kyler Jackson; sisters, Nova Hatch (Ralph) of Idaho & Julie Tycer of Oregon. In addition, Bob has numerous biological siblings and family spread across the states.
Arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel. There will not be formal services. Please attend a celebration on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 2-4pm at “his” insurance office 912 3rd Street, Sedro-Woolley.

Brian, I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. He was not only our first insurance agent when we moved into the area, he was also Steven’s first soccer coach. He had his hands full with those youngsters, but he had unbelievable patience and such a kind and caring heart. He will be missed by the entire community. In my thoughts and prayers you and your family remain.

so sorry to hear that Bob passed away. Bob was always so helpful, and friendly, we also appreciated his sense of humor. I was in an accident and Bob came out to wait with me while it was cleared up. Bob was a kind soul, with many friends he will be missed. thinking of you all.

  • Jean Carriere

I was shocked to read this sad news. Bob was my insurance agent for over 30 years and a good friend. He will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to family and friends.

  • Ryan Ostrom

I can remember stopping to see Bob every time we got a new car, boat, or rv while growing up. Then when I started my own family, that tradition continued. Bob always treated us as a friend first, and customers second, even when we had claims. My prayers are with his family. He will be greatly missed.

  • Mike Little

I speak on behalf of the Little family that we are deeply saddened by Bob’s passing. Bob had been an extended member of our family since he worked with my Dad on my his race car back in the 70’s. Bob was at family gatherings and holidays, and for years sacrificed his body for the annual Thanksgiving day football games with the Little clan – breaking ribs and other bones each year, yet coming back for more the next. He was an active member of his community, a wonderful friend, and a terrific father – with an endless well of wit that could make anybody smile. He will be missed.

  • Spike & Dani Hoskinson

When we bought the Farmers® Agency from Brian last year, we had no idea of how deep the connection to the community Bob Jackson had. We were indeed blessed to have the opportunity to work with Bob, as he chose to stay on with us indefinitely. Bob made sure to teach us all of his bad habits, and shared his incredible sense of humor with us. In the course of our endeavors, we have been included into a wonderful “family” of Sedro Woolley, and Skagit County. Dani and I would be honored if you would join us and Brian with Tori and his family for a Celebration of the Life of Bob Jackson.

All of his many friends and loyal clients are invited to the Agency, at 912 3rd Street, Suite B, in Sedro Woolley for fellowship and refreshments on Friday the 22nd of April, 2016 at 2:00pm until 4:00pm.

    Respectfully, Spike & Dani

Was shocked to see that Bob had passed away. I bought my first insurance policy from Bob back in 1976. After moving back to town it didn’t take long to see he was still in the office now with Brian and Amanda. So it was an easy choice to have them take care of me. He was always great and easy to deal with. My thoughts and prayers go out to Brian and his family and Bob’s many friends. He will be greatly missed in the community, but never forgotten.

We will miss Bob alot. My dad ( Claude Cowell) and Bob were great friends before her passed in 1996. I was very young when I met Bob he always went out of his way to help us out wither it was for insurance or helping my dad fix my car that I was rear ended in, or pulling dents and bonding the race car my dad raced at Skagit in the 70s. My sister Holly Cowell Harris work for Bob and the office while she was in High school. I miss driving by the the office and honking and waving as I’m sure everyone will.

Wanda, I am so sorry Robert has passed. I have some good memories of him from Keno, as a matter of fact, I think I still remember his club card number. He was one of my favorite keno players. A really good guy. Prayers for you and your family.

Bob, I wish we would have got the chance to spend time together and I would have been able to meet your family. When I found out I had so many brothers and sister I was shocked. I got to meet you for the first time about 11 years ago and it seems like just yesterday. May you rest in peace and know you were loved very much. I love you brother.

My dear brother, we never got to see each other to say goodbye but I loved you . We never got to have childhood memories. But I remember when we got together in California. You were in the Navy and you came over to where I was and my friend. You thought you were Mr Wonderful with your brother’s girlfriend. You had a head of black hair and back then you thought it was nice. So I got mad and poured pop in your hair. You could of killed me,but you just said sis I love you and we laughed. I love you bother. Your sister Sue Ann.
