Roger Keith LaFleur died Saturday, August 6, 2016, surrounded by family at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, WA.
He was born August 21, 1947 to Hugh and Evie (Nicki) LaFleur in Sedro-Woolley, where he always called home. He graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1965.
After high school he enlisted in the US army, honorably discharged in 1970. During this time he earned his journeyman papers in body work and mechanics and became a master mechanic. If it could not be done, he figured out a way to do it anyhow. He also raced at Skagit Speedway during this time, and decided to give it up when he got married in October, 1970. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Gail LaFleur; daughters, Wendy Bartholomew (and Mark) and Carmine LaFleur; son, Marshall LaFleur; grandsons, Stephan LaFleur, Adrian Slonicker, Donavon LaFleur, and Ayden Bartholomew; granddaughter, Isabel Banta; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jerry LaFleur and his sister, Evelyn Sanders.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday,
August 12, 2016, at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 10217 Collins Rd, Sedro-Woolley, WA. Please dress casual or in your Seahawks gear as Roger would have wanted it.
Friends since Grade school. I always thought I’d be the one to go first.

Roger was a great friend we spent a lot of time together working at Snelson Inc. We also spent a few years in Alaska working together. You will be missed but you are in a better place now. Are prayers are with your family. Thanks to Wendy for letting my Daughter know about Roger she let me know.

So Sorry to hear of your family lost. I remember Roger from when i first had a play date at wendy’s house back in 3rd grade believe this was the only time i got to meet him other times when i came over he was not there.
