Ronald W. Lund, 81, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 24, 2006.
Ronald was born January 19, 1925 in Carington, North Dakota, the son of Gerhard and Ellen Black Lund. The family moved to Sunburst, Montana in 1941.
During World War II, Ronald served as a U.S. Navy Seabees on Tinian and Saipan Islands in the South Pacific.
Upon his return home, he married the light of his life, Ulene Kohles and they were blessed with four lovely daughters. Ronald and Ulene celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 1, 2006.
Ronald and family moved from Sunburst, Montana to Burlington, WA in 1958, where he was employed for 36 years at various Texaco refineries, retiring in 1986 as a Foreman at the Anacortes refinery. After retiring from Texaco, Ronald kept himself busy working on many projects and helping others with numerous endeavors. Always one willing to help, he will be greatly missed and always remembered.
In 1997 Ronald was baptized as a member of the Burlington Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation, becoming a well respected friend and brother to all. Thank all for your support and prayers during Ronald’s illness.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Ulene, daughters and spouses, Vicky Bob Boheman of Conway, Rolene Ron Soini of Sedro-Woolley, Jackie Clarence Paul of Mount Vernon, and April Joe Conger of Mount Vernon; sisters, Lauretta Siderius of Milton Freewater, Oregon and Jeanette Frost of Conrad, Montana; grandchildren, Ken, Grant, Ryan, Cris, Katy, Heidi; great-grandchildren, Greg, Toby, Abby, Ashley, Tyler, Justin, Brooklyn, Cristopher, Darren, Megan, Alexus and Gunnar; and great-great-granddaughter, Callie Rose. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ellen and Gerhard Lund and his brother, Roger Lund.
The family suggests memorials be made to The Hope Heart Institute, 18th Ave., Seattle, WA 98122 or Children’s Hospital, 4800 Sandpoint Way, Seattle, WA 98105 or a charity of your choice.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 20249 Layfette Road, Burlington.
