Ruth D. Olsen, 91, a longtime Sedro-Woolley area resident, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the Burton Care Center in Burlington.
She was born on April 18, 1916 in South River, New Jersey, the daughter of James & Jeanette Stone Smith.
She was raised and attended school in New Jersey. On April 12, 1936 she was united in marriage to Charles Olsen in Elkton, Maryland and they made their home in New Brunswick, New Jersey. In 1953 they moved their family to Sedro-Woolley and operated a dairy farm on Collins Road for many years.
Along with her farming activities Ruth enjoyed cooking, sewing and working in her garden. She was also a member of the Assembly of God Church and enjoyed helping with home ministries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 1985. She is survived by her son, Terry Olsen and his wife Karen of Sedro-Woolley. 4 grandchildren, Candice, Michelle, Scott and Jason and 7 great-grandchildren. At Ruth’s request no services will be held.
