Ruth L. Case, 75, a longtime resident of Marblemount, passed away on Wednesday December 7, 2005 at Burton Care Center in Burlington.
She was born on August 31, 1930 in Rockport, WA the daughter of Charlie and Carrie Huffman Stafford.
She was raised and attended schools in Marblemount and Concrete. After her graduation she worked in Seattle as a librarian. She then came back to the valley and was united in marriage to Melvin Case on April 29, 1949 in Mount Vernon.
Ruth worked for the fish hatchery in Marblemount, for Sakuma Brothers farmers and also at the Log House Inn in Marblemount for 27 years.
She enjoyed her family, making quits and sewing, she liked to fish, go for hikes, traveling with family and friends, and was a member of the Marblemount Orthopedic Guild.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin of Marblemount. 4 sons, Dale Case of Tonasket, WA, Bill Case and his wife, Jane of Lynden, WA, Melvin D. Case of Marblemount and Mike Case of Sedro-Woolley. 6 grandchildren, Angie, Aaron, Kristie, Donna, Tyler, and Nichole. 3 great- grandchildren, Austin, Jasmine and Tyssen. 3 sisters, Lois Ayres, Flora Woodring and her husband, Richard and Mary Anderson and her husband, George. 2 brothers; J.D. and Jerry Stafford and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Ernest, Robert and Jack Stafford and a brother-in-law Bill Ayres.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Marblelmount Orthopedic Guild.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, on December 14, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley. Interment will follow at the Lyman Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
