Saundra L. Bates, 62, a resident of Bellingham passed away on Monday October 24, 2005 at the Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon.
She was born on June 27, 1943 in Vancouver, B.C., the daughter of Lewis and Ruth Allen Rosa.
Sandi enjoyed sharing her time with friends and family. She had a great love for poetry, music, movies, reading and life in general. She had a contagious laugh, bringing to her career as a nurse and care giver joy and pleasure to her patients and all that met her.
Sandi is survived by 3 daughters, Deborah Goldsbury, Barbara Feathers and her companion, Pius Tyke and Sarah Cleaver and her husband, Chris. 8 grandchildren, Tausha, Shaela and Kevin Feathers, Justin Florence, Chris Feathers, Stephanie Lewis, Savannah Wyze and baby Cleaver; 3 great-grandchildren, Tristan and Hunter Florence and Aaliyah Feathers. Her father, Lewis Rosa; 2 sisters, Elva Quillen and Kaarena Foster; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends, Marcia Verduin, Wendy Bovee and Bonita Wiebe, and many, many numerous other friends.
Sandi was preceded in death by her husband, James Bates; her mother Ruth Terry Munson; a grandmother, Ethlyn B. Lindstrom Me-Ma and a brother-in-law, Ray Quillen.
A Life Celebration will be held on Saturday October 29, 2005 at 12 noon at His Place Church in Burlington with Pastor Nick Harris officiating.
