Steven Clontz

Saturday, June 6th, 2015

Steven Robert Clontz, a loving father, grandfather and friend, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the age of 65 years.

He was born in North Carolina in 1949, moving to Skagit County as a child settling in the Big Lake area.  He attended school in Sedro-Woolley, graduating from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1967.

Steve has been a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident where he worked for Sedro-Woolley Lumber for over 20 years and then worked for Washington Alder, retiring in 2012.

Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his 2 dogs, Issac and Sam.  Although spending time in the outdoors was a favorite pastime, his passion was for his classic cars, with his first love being his 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport. He built and meticulously maintained all of his cars, ensuring that they were always in tip top shape.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Toni Marie Nurmi of Sedro-Woolley; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; uncle, Sam Reese; close friends, Jim Hyler, Bruce Queen, “Harley Man” “Panama” and Norm Nersten and numerous other family and friends. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth & Evelyn “Pat” Lindquist; his twin brother, Sam Clontz; son, Lenny James Clontz and best friend, Johnny Reed.

A Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Roy Swihart officiating.  A fellowship will follow at the Sedro-Woolley Eagles.

The last I spoke with Steve he was worried about getting his cucumbers in the ground. Now I imagine he has a beautiful garden with the best cucumbers. Hang in there Toni.

So sorry to hear of Steves passing. He is pain free now, enjoying Heaven where he is having a beer with his friends and family that gone before him. Rest In Peace Steve.
