Steven Joe Stalter, age 66, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at his home in Concrete, Washington. He was born September 20, 1941 in Lima, Ohio, the son of Mernett and Ruth Zerbe Stalter.
Steven grew up in Ohio and moved to Marysville, WA in 1956 and graduated from Marysville High School in 1960. He was a longtime resident of Marysville working as a truck driver for Everett Fuel and Lumber, Bayliner, Safeway, and many other companies. He moved to Arizona and returned to Camano Island for 12 years before moving to Concrete 6 years ago. Steven belonged to the Moose Lodge in Arizona and enjoyed panning for gold, working on old cars, and duck hunting.
He is survived by his companion, Sharon Rodio of Concrete, WA. His daughter, Carrie Stalter of Marysville, WA and a son, Steven Stalter of Mountlake Terrace, WA. 4 step-sons; Willy Snyder of Everett, WA, Tom Snyder of Camano Island, WA, Jeff Stalter of Seattle, WA, and Bill Rodio of Mount Vernon, WA and 2 step-daughters; Lori Rodio of Twisp, WA and Tina Rodio Dinsmore of Winthrop, WA. 22 grandchildren; Ashley, Patrick, Madison, Owen, Michael, Nathan, Kristen, Kelly, Melissa, Kathleen, Thomas, Leighton, Jordyn, Trey, Bella, Brooklyn, Alexandria, Rachel, Bill III, Lucas, Marissa, A.J., and 1 great grandchild Ashton. 5 brothers and 6 sisters; Doris Walker of Apache Junction, AZ, Jim Stalter of Apache Junction, AZ, Robert Stalter of Lake Stevens, WA, Dave Stalter of Phoenix, AZ, Anne Straun of Edmonds, WA, Betty Leighton of Cherryfield, MA, Bruce Stalter of Mesa, AZ, Carol Mulanax of Stanwood, WA, Mike Stalter of Marysville, WA, Patty Stalter of Edmonds, WA, and Cathy Tyler of Lake Stevens, WA. Numerous nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Janet Stalter, a step-son Denver Snyder, and brothers Mernett Jr. and Mark.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 11:30 AM at the Arlington Heights Grange, 12221 208th St., Arlington with a Family Celebration to follow at the Family Home, 41723 Mountain View Lane, Concrete Cape Horn beginning at 3:00PM.
