Teri Mauricio Haavik

Sunday, April 12th, 2015

Teri Mauricio Haavik departed Mt. Vernon, Washington for greener pastures on April 12, 2015.

Born November 4, 1949 in Los Angeles, California, she spent the first 45 years of her life in Harbor City before finding her paradise in Sedro-Woolley, Washington.

Teri spent her entire life caring for others.  She saw her “Nona”, Aunt Mabel, and mother, Florence, through their final days.  She raised 5 children in her own compassionate mold and nothing delighted her more than being a grandmother.   She also contributed to the lives of countless others along the way, through her work as a little league board member at Harbor City Little League and founder of the Second Chance Horse Rescue.  She worked in the nursing profession and as a pharmacy technician for Maxicare in Torrance, California.  Teri was led through life by her heart and was willing to share it with anyone or anything that just needed a little love.  She was so appreciative of the many friends she made while living in the Skagit Valley.

Teri is survived by her five children: Hansen & Liz, Jason & Ronni, Sonny & Carmen, Fred & Katie and Elizabeth & John.  She also has 13 glorious grandchildren: Jonathan, Chelsea, Kaitlyn, Sonny, Natalie, Logan, Camryn, Hannah, Spencer, Carter, Hailey, Tye, and Xavier.  She also leaves behind her brother James Mascola and his two children, Debbie and Joe.

Services are to be held at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley on Saturday April 18th at 10 am.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to: Skagit Animals In Need, P.O. Box 200, Bow, WA 98232.  Visit their website at www.skagitanimalsinneed.org.

So sorry for your loss … I know there are no good words at a time like this but if you need anything including someone to distract the girls let me know. Big hugs to you, Ronni, Jonathan and the girls from Ali and I

I truly believe that people who dedicate themselves to the care of helpless animals are blessed by God with extra grace. Perhaps Terri is in the company of some of those animals that she saved, in a green pasture with the sun shining, and no longer suffering! With God all things are possible.

    Rest in peace.

There is nothing better than the love of your mother. Always remember, in her passing, you still have that in your heart. Over time, it will continue to grow and I truly believe she’s still listening. Sorry for your loss and may you find peace in the days ahead.
