On March 28, 1951 he was united in marriage to Margie Watson in Pickens, South Carolina and they briefly made their home in Sylva, NC until settling in Lyman, Washington.
Tom worked for the Lone Star Cement Co. in Concrete, WA in the packing department for 10 years until he and his family moved to Everett in 1962 and Tom began working for Associated Sand & Gravel constructing pre-stressed beams for bridges and then in the shipping & receiving department.
In 1977 Tom began working for the Hanson Construction Company out of Bellevue where he was a crew foreman and supervisor building professional and commercial buildings.
