Anthony J. ‘Tony’ Radosevich, age 81, who was born, raised, and lived his entire life in Sedro-Woolley, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham, Washington. He was born to foreign immigrants, Antone and Helen Radosevich on May 14, 1926.
Tony grew up in Sedro-Woolley attending school and was a well known athlete through out the County, especially for his football playing abilities. He graduated early from Sedro-Woolley High School with the Class of 1945 so that he could enter the U.S. Army serving as a Staff Sgt. until his discharge in December of 1946.
Tony met Myrna Preston in 1946 and she became the love of his life. They were united in marriage on October 14, 1947 in Seattle, WA celebrating 54 years together until her passing in October of 2001.
Tony was a home builder in Sedro-Woolley and Skagit County for over 40 years and was well respected by his community and was a friend to many. He was an active member of the Sedro-Woolley Rotary Club for many years and was instrumental along with Myrna’s assistance in helping to construct the Sedro-Woolley Community Center.
He loved sports, especially watching Sedro-Woolley sporting activities and he was an experienced outdoorsman.
The most important thing to Tony was his family. He will be remembered as a loving father to Jan, David, and Mark and a generous grandfather to his 9 grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Jan Marie Radosevich of Kirkland, David Radosevich of Kirkland, and Mark Radosevich and his wife Chris of Lake Stevens. His grandchildren, Anthony and Jonathon Radosevich, Jayme and Matthew Nelson, Sierra, Misty, Sunny, Kit, and Hawk Radosevich and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Myrna, and 4 sisters.
A 1:00 PM Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 10th at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. All family and friends who wish to pay their respects to Tony and Myrna are invited to attend. Visitation will be available from 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturday, March 8th at Lemley Chapel. Private family interment with Military Honors will be held at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery.
