Walter Wayne Bullo

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Walter Wayne Bullo, 92, a former longtime resident of the Blanchard & Edison area, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2008 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.
Walter was born on September 15, 1916 in Edison, Washington, the son of Walter H. & Maymee Beeler Bullo. He attended grade school in Blanchard and graduated from Edison High School with the class of 1934.
On October 23, 1937 Walter was united in marriage to Vera Alwood in Mount Vernon and they made their home in the Blanchard & Edison areas for over 50 years.
Walter worked in the timber industry for over 40 years, working as a tree faller, a truck driver, a choker setter and a road builder until his retirement in 1975.
In 1989 Walter & Vera moved to Soap Lake, Washington where they enjoyed the warmer weather until 2000 when they moved to Marysville, finally returning to the Skagit Valley in 2004.
Walter enjoyed hunting, was an avid fisherman, but his passion was cars. He loved cars! Over the years he owned literally hundreds of cars of all makes, models and colors. He would trade or sell for a variety of reasons. Just to change color or transmissions style or something new caught his eye. He just loved dealing with cars.
Walter is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Vera in Sedro-Woolley. His daughter and son-in-law, Judy & Earl Lindstrom of Bow and his son and daughter-in-law, Larry & Elizabeth Bullo of Concrete. His four grandchildren and their spouses, Sandie & Bill King, Bill & Janet Lindstrom, Laura & Jason Wheeler and Mike & Lorraine Smith. Three great-grandchildren, Sarah and Casey King and Lacey Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Reverend Randall S. Bullo; a grandson, Mark Smith and a sister, June Nussbaumer.
The family suggests memorials in memory of Walter be made to the Bailey-Boushay House, PO Box 1930, Seattle, WA 98111, or a charity of your choice.
A Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008 from 1-4 PM at the Skagit Resort, 5984 N Darrk Lane, Bow, WA 98232. The open house starts at 1:00 with lunch served at 2:00.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of a Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
