Wayne Weldon, age 71, passed away Monday, March 31, 2008 at his home in Mount Vernon, Washington. He was born August 11, 1936 in Lisman, Kentucky to Boyd and Lee-Ora Marks Weldon.
Wayne was a resident of Mount Vernon for the past 8 years and formally resided in Clear Lake, California for 10 years and Santa Rosa, California prior to that. He worked as an operating engineer in construction for many years and was a member of Operating Engineers Local #3. Wayne enjoyed fishing, walking in the woods, tinkering in his garage, and he loved to meet new friends.
Wayne is survived by his wife Wanda Weldon of the family home in Mount Vernon. 2 sons; Michael Weldon and his wife Cassandra of Sebastopol, CA and Bill Weldon and his wife Fritzi of Lake Stevens, WA. 7 grandchildren; Karie Weldon, Melissa Weldon, Jessica Weldon, Justin Weldon, Orion Weldon, Mikey Weldon, and David Weldon and a great-grandson; Ryan Laubenstein. 2 sisters; Edna Ferreronte of Yuba City, CA and Sue Russell of Dixon, KY. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son David and a brother Bill.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, April 4, 2008 at 2:00PM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with a Memorial Service to follow at 6:00PM at Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship on Hwy 20 in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Steve Fish officiating. Memorials are suggested to Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship. Arrangements and Services under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
