Willa Mae Huscusson, age 87, a longtime resident of Marblemount, Rockport and later Monroe for the past 34 years, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Valley General Hospital in Monroe, WA. She was born on March 8, 1920 in Sylva, North Carolina, the daughter of Lewis & Nina Extine Seago.
Willa Mae was married to John Huscusson in 1939 in Cornelia, Georgia and he preceded her in death in 1962. She worked as a cook for various restaurants including the Mt. Baker Lodge, Ernie Green’s in Marblemount, Fritzingers in Rockport, and the Holiday Inn in Monroe. Willa Mae enjoyed mushroom picking, going to yard sales, dancing, and socializing with her friends and family. She was a member of the Monroe Eagles.
Willa Mae is survived by her 2 sons, Calvin Huscusson of Lyman and Robert Huscusson and his wife, Fran of Stanwood. 3 daughters, Betty Yeager Walden and her husband Britt of Sedro-Woolley, Ozell Podraza and her husband, Jim of Tampa, FL and Marie Stone of Monroe. 2 brothers, Carl Seago and his wife, Esther of Kelso, WA and Howard Paris of Sylva, NC. 3 sisters, Mary Hulbert and her husband Roy of Bellevue, Helen Yundt and her husband Harold of Everett and Ethel Thomas of Alabama. 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, a son, Dallas Huscusson, a daughter, Esther Anderson, a brother, Charles Seago, a sister, Louise Bishop, 2 grandchildren, John Cuthbert and Debra Yeager and a special friend, Don Coffel.
A Celebration of Life Potluck will be held Friday Jul 27th from 4-8PM at the Monroe Eagles with a Graveside Service to be held Saturday, July 28th at 11:00AM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Services are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
