William C. Storie

William ‘Bill’ C. Storie passed away with his loving family at his side on August 28, 2007 at Home Place Special Care in Burlington, WA. He was born Jan. 2, 1929 in Mount Vernon, WA to John ‘Frank’ Storie and Florence Mae Cassedy Storie. Bill was the first baby born in Skagit County in 1929. He went to grade school in Mount Vernon. Later on, he moved with his parents and his little sister Lois, to Seattle WA. He graduated from Queen Ann High School in 1948. This was the year he met the love of his life, Marberta Teedie Irvin. He went to Central WA University before enrolling in the USMC. After a 3 year stint in the Marines, he then enlisted in the US Air Force and was stationed in California. Bill & Teedie were married Feb. 7th 1952 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in San Francisco, CA. Soon after, Bill was transferred to Japan, where the newlyweds would live for their first 2 years of marriage.
He worked in a variety of trades over his life time, but we think his favorite was driving a tanker truck on the Alaska pipeline in the mid 1970’s. He hauled fuel from Valdez to Prudoe Bay. At the time it was one of the largest tanker trucks of its kind. Dad was also an avid football fan. He was the only guy we knew who could watch 3 football games on TV at the same time. In 1976, Bill played for the Skagit Valley Raiders. He was thrilled the night he got to play on the field with his son Bill Jr.
Bill was a fun loving guy with a great sense of humor and a twinkle in his eye. He will be sorely missed by all of his friends and family.
Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife Teedie of Sedro-Woolley. His children; Michele Tony Lomsdalen of Bay View, Bill Jr. Polly Storie of Sedro-Woolley, Paul Tori Storie of Sedro-Woolley, Stephanie Storie and her fianc
