Winnifred E. Taylor-Peterson, 91, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.

    Winnie was born on November 20, 1922 in Roseburg, Oregon, the daughter of Wallace & Julia (Moore) Thresher.   At the age of 4 her family moved to Sedro-Woolley where she was raised and attended school.

   In 1941 she was united in marriage to Lloyd Taylor and together they made their home in Sedro-Woolley for 20 years until his death in 1961.  After Lloyd’s death Winnie worked as an in home care provider for many years.   In 1990 she married Dan Peterson and together they made their home in Sedro-Woolley until his death in 2000.

    Winnie was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning the fruits and vegetables she grew in her garden and when time allowed she enjoyed bowling.

    Winnie is survived by her children and their spouses, Ron & Patty Taylor of Electric City, WA, Mildred Taylor of Eugene, OR, Lloyd & Teresa Taylor of Everett, WA, Richard Taylor, Julie & Steve Kiefer, and Jim & Sharon Taylor all of Sedro-Woolley, WA, Joani & Chuck Taylor-Fillman of Tonopah, NV and Jean & Dave Wilson of Marysville, WA; 28 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.   Besides her husbands, Lloyd & Dan she was preceded in death by her son, Harold Taylor, grandson, Mike Hyatt and two brothers, Robert & Curtis Thresher.

    The family requests that memorials be made to the Jerry Frisbee Donation Account, c/o any branch of Skagit State Bank.

    A Life Celebration service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 5:00 PM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Wayne Stiles officiating. Private inurnment will be at the Greenhills Cemetery in Burlington.
