Ada M. Hagen King a longtime resident of Clear Lake and Burlington passed away Sunday, January 19, 2003 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley at the age of 89 years. She was born April 16, 1913 in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada the daughter of Wesley and Ada Leader Upton. Ada grew up and attended schools in |Saskatchewan and later worked in Vancouver, BC. She was married to Vic Hagen and they moved to Clear Lake in 1944. Ada worked for most of the cannery’s in the Skagit Valley and was a member of the Teamsters Union retiring from the National Cannery in Burlington in 1983 at the age of 70. Vic preceded her in death in September of 1955. She was then married to Everett King in 1963 and they farmed in the Beaver Lake area and were members for 25 years of the Cedar Crest Grange.
Everett preceded her in death in 1981. She is survived by her son and Daughter in law Keith and Anita Hagen of Concrete and a daughter and son in law Vickey and Don Archer. 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter. A sister Doris Stephenson and family of Calgary, Alberta Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Esther Read of Vancouver, BC. Canada. Memorials are suggested to Church of Christ in Bow, WA or the Salvation Army. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
