Agnes G. Harrison, 91, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 2, 2017.
Agnes was born on June 26, 1926 in Isabel, SD, the daughter of Michael & Paulina (Preszler) Stotz. In the early 1940’s the family settled in Burlington and Agnes graduated Salutatorian from B-EHS with the class of 1944. She then attended St. Luke’s Hospital’s nursing program where she earned her nursing credentials.
On November 26, 1949 she was united in marriage to Robert Harrison and together they made their home and raised their family in Sedro-Woolley.
Agnes worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, working for several Doctors’ clinics and for many years at Skagit Valley Hospital.
She has been an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church for over 60 years, she worked on the election board, enjoyed watching the Mariners and enjoyed making quilts, knitting, crocheting, traveling and playing card games.
Agnes is survived by her sons, David Harrison and wife, Janet of Burlington and Mark Harrison of Sedro-Woolley; daughter, Annette Parker and husband, Gregg of Sedro-Woolley; 8 grandchildren, Jeffry, Bryan, Jonathan and Michael Harrison Jennifer Young (Justin), Joni Jordan (Richie), Lenny Serfling (Cassie) and Shawna Serfling; 2 great-grandchildren, Jacob Young and Addison Jordan; lifelong friend, Bette Fitzgerald; sisters-in-law, Betty Johnson and Shirley Entrikin and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard in 1971; husband, Robert in 2010 and 3 sisters.
Memorials in honor of Agnes are suggested to the Harrison Family Scholarship c/o Sedro-Woolley Schools Foundation, PO Box 401, Sedro-Woolley, WA or to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1:30 PM followed by a Life Celebration Service at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sedro-Woolley at 2:30 PM with Pastor Eric Wangen-Hoch officiating. Visitation is available at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
