ALAN MICHAEL BROWN, 65, a resident of Concrete, WA passed away at his home on Friday December 6, 2002.
He was born on May 25, 1937 in Slough, England, the son of William A. & Beatrice Shoreland Brown. He was raised in England until 1953 when the family moved to Quebec, Ontario, Canada, then to Vancouver, B.C. Canada in 1955. He later came to the United States and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1958. He served in the U.S. Armed Services for 25 years as a maintenance officer during his enlistment and had 3 tours in the Viet Nam Conflict. Following his discharge he made his home in Tacoma and Issaquah and worked as a maintenance supervisor in the health care field. In 1998 he moved to Concrete to enjoy retirement. Alan was an excellent mechanic and a jack of all trades person who could fix anything. He enjoyed sailing, fishing, snowmobiling and building and flying remote control model airplanes.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Jeanette Brown and daughter Annette Horton, all of Tacoma, WA. 2 grandchildren, Nicole & Michael Brown. His mother, Beatrice Brown of Port Alberni, B.C. , Canada and his brother, Peter Brown of B.C. Canada. He was preceded in death by his father William Brown, a daughter Susan Brown and a brother Derrick Brown.
Graveside services will be held Monday December 16, 2002 at 2:00 PM at the Forest Park Cemetery in Concrete. Military honors provided by the Fort Lewis Honor Guard.
