Albert Otto “Al” Binschus, 87, a longtime Skagit County resident, passed away on December 23, 2015 at Where The Heart Is in Burlington.

Al was born on May 22, 1928 in Jackson, Michigan, the son of Albert & Melissa (McFarland) Binschus.  The family moved to Bellingham in 1939 where he attended school until 1945 when he enlisted into the U.S. Army with his brother Fawnie, serving his country during WW II.

After his discharge he returned to make his home in the Sedro-Woolley and upper Skagit Valley area.  He worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator in the construction industry for many years and was a member of the Laborers Union Local 411.

Al is survived by his immediate family and numerous relatives.  He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Visitation will be available at Lemley Chapel on Dec. 28th & Dec. 29th from 9am to 5pm.
