Barbara Dills, age 82, a longtime Hamilton, Washington resident, passed away July 14, 2022. She was born February 2, 1940, at Allens Creek, Haywood County, North Carolina, to Samuel and Gladys (Mitchell) McNabb.

Barbara graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School and later attended classes at Skagit Valley College. She partnered with Jr., and took care of the books for their logging company, Dills Creek, Inc.

She loved cooking and owned a restaurant in Lyman for two years with her sister, Alice Pressley; She enjoyed sewing clothing for her daughters and grandchildren along with quilting. She made ceramics with her friends and enjoyed league bowling. Barbara worked on the Hamilton town Counsel for several years.

Barbara is survived by her children, Tom (Sue) Dills, Gordon (Laurie) Dills, Alice (James) Hardenburgh and Vivian (Jim) Summers; seven grandchildren, Gordon Joshua Dills, Samuel Parker, Nicholas Nova, Jacob Dills, Quentin Dills, Lucia Parker, Mitchell Nova; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Polly Buchanan and Margaret Ammons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 60 years, Gordon “Jr.”; sisters, Alice Pressley and Ima Jean Smith; brothers, Mack and Eugene McNabb; and her great grandson, Tucker Parker.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00, Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the Hamilton Cemetery, Mr. Jim Cook presiding. Family and friends are welcome to gather for a potluck celebration of her life at the Lyman Fire Hall in Lyman, WA. Memorials can be made to a charity of your choice or Hospice of the Northwest.
