Betty Ann Riggles, age 60, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at the Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, WA after a courageous battle with diabetes and kidney disease.
She was born November 1, 1945 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Walter and Edna Finck Evans. Betty grew up in Arco, ID, attending school and graduated from Butte County High School in 1964.
She was married to Raymond R. Riggles on January 23, 1967 in Idaho Falls and they have resided in Sedro-Woolley for the past 39 years. Betty was a past Director and Secretary for 25 years of the Skagit Valley Women’s Bowling Association and was inducted into the Skagit Valley Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame. She enjoyed reading and fishing, watching the Mariners and Seahawks, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and family.
She is survived by her husband Raymond R. Riggles of the family home in Sedro-Woolley. Her children, Lisa Riggles and her partner Mike Owen of Mount Vernon and Ralph Riggles and grandchildren, Logan and Nolan Riggles and their mother Rachel Riggles all of Sedro-Woolley. Mother-in-law, Grace Johnson of Sedro-Woolley and a sister Linda Johnson of Arco, ID. Brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Joni Lee of Burlington, brother-in-law, Randy Riggles of Concrete, and sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Ray Selvig of Sedro-Woolley. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Harold, her father-in-law, Ralph E. Riggles, and a brother-in-law George Johnson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Lombard and staff at the Skagit Valley Kidney Center for their special care of Betty.
Graveside Services will be Saturday, September 30, 2006 at 1:00 PM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with Pastor Wendy Tingley of Trinity United Presbyterian Church officiating. Visitation will be Friday, September 29th from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lemley Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Skagit Valley Kidney Center in Mount Vernon. Arrangements and services under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
