CARL L. WELSH, 50, a resident of Lyman, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham with his wife Barbara at his side. He was born on April 28, 1952 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, the son of Lewis and Margaret Corman Welsh. He was raised and attended school in Carlisle and later enlisted in the US Army and served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. After his discharge Carl was a trapper in Colorado, a miner in Nicaragua, a merchant seaman and later became a bounty hunter. In 1994 he came to Mount Vernon where he was employed as a truck driver for Tact Trucking.
On August 18, 1994 he was united in marriage to Barbara Mason in Mount Vernon, WA. In 1997 they moved to Lyman where they made their home. Carl was a great friend to lots of people, had a good sense of humor and loved to fish.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of Lyman; 2 sons, Joel & Michael Welsh and 1 daughter, Bridgett Welsh. His father Lewis Welsh of San Diego, California, and 4 sisters. Brothers and sisters-in-law; Ted and Christie Johnson, Kathy and Buck Young and Teri and Richard Sawyer and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret and 3 sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. Military Honors will be provided by George Baldridge Post #43 American Legion.     This man is my former husband of 14 years michael Welsh father but Mike never met. He would have been my daughter’s grandfather. I am glad we found this. My daughter enjoyed me reading it to her.
