CLAYTON G. ERICKSON, 57, a longtime resident of South Lake Samish and Sedro-Woolley passed away unexpectedly on Sunday November 24, 2002 at United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley. He was born on June 11, 1945 in Bellingham, WA, the son of Gordon I. & Madeline Bruce Erickson.
He was raised and attended school in Bellingham, graduating from Bellingham High School in 1962. Clayton worked for Intalco Aluminum Manufacturing in Ferndale as a Supervisor and Purchasing agent for 32 years, retiring in 1999. He was united in marriage to Margaret Annie Griffin on April 9, 1990 in Mount Vernon and they made their home in Sedro-Woolley. Clayton enjoyed golfing, playing poker, restoring old cars and spending time with family and friends. He had enthusiasm for life and a desire to help those around him. He was a member of the Lake Samish Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife Annie at the family home. 2 sons, Darren Erickson and his wife Jennifer of Kirkland, WA and Jeffrey Scott Erickson of Mount Vernon, WA. 2 daughters, Debbie Cribbs of Sedro-Woolley, WA and Coleen Aylen and her husband Curt of Spokane, WA. 1 step-daughter, Rachel Messer of Sedro-Woolley. 4 grandchildren, Joel Patrick Erickson, Tayah Susanne and Dalton Jeffrey Aldridge and Joshua Robert Cribbs. 3 sisters, Marilyn Smith, Beth Wagner and Diane LaVeille. 1 brother, Gary Erickson. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon & Madeline and 1 brother, Brian Dennis Erickson.
Graveside services were held Wednesday November 27, 2002 at 11:00 AM at the Lyman Cemetery. Memorial are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Clear Lake, WA.
