Clement D. Hassa passed away at his home near Wickersham, WA with his family at his side on Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at the age of 66 years. He was born January 14, 1937 in Bismarck, North Dakota, the son of William and Rose Gable Hassa. Clement was a resident of Park Road near Wickersham and Acme since 1978 coming here from Enumclaw, WA. He worked as a logger for many years working for Greg Pulley Logging, Elk Ridge Logging, Hamilton Brothers Logging, and Art Feller Logging as well as working for Skagit Steel for a period of time. Clement enjoyed gardening, fishing, and mechanics, but most of all the highlight of his life were his grandchildren. He was an honorary member of American Legion Post 224 in Deming, helping them on the Deming Log Show for many years. Clement was married to Diana Hopper on June 7, 1976 in Enumclaw, WA.
He is survived by his wife Diana Hassa of the family home. A daughter Michelle and her husband Jonathan Griggs of Acme and a son Tony A. Hassa of Hudson, MA. 2 grandchildren, Jonathan Michael Gates of Mount Vernon and Corrina Lee Griggs of Acme. A brother, Don Hassa of Park City, MT and 3 sisters Bernice Kiefat of Hoyt Lakes, MN, Rosemary Helseth of Minneapolis, MN, and Delores Cravens of Oregon. Numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials be made to the North Puget Oncology Dept. c/o United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley or a charity of your choice.
