Clint James Silves

Monday, May 2nd, 2022

Clint James Silves, age 44, of Maple Falls, WA, passed away May 2, 2022, in a logging accident.  He was born March 7, 1978, in Sedro-Woolley, WA to Kirk and Janell (Bentz) Silves.

Clint was raised in Sedro-Woolley and graduated from SWHS in 1996. He enjoyed fishing with his friends and being with his dog, Scooter and going to hot rod shows with his family.  Clint married Wendy July 7, 2007 so that the three 7’s would be easy to remember for their anniversaries. They lived a short time in Skagit County before moving to Whatcom County.

Clint was a logger for 20 years following in his dad’s footsteps and the last 6 years were with Nielsen Brothers Logging.  Clint’s greatest joys were his family and when he had down time you could find him and Wendy out on a lake fishing, watching NASCAR or drag racing.

Clint is survived by his wife, Wendy (Clayton) Silves; children, Shania Zieber and Ty Silves; grandson, T.J.; parents, Kirk and Janell Silves; siblings, Shannon (Brad) Buchanan, Roy (Amy) Swihart, Misty (Tom) Barnhart and Norman Swihart; grandfather, Don Bentz; uncles, Fritz Bentz and Donnie Bentz; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; his rigging crew and the logging community.

Clint was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Bill and Marge Silves; great grandmother, Ruth Utter; grandmother, Jeanne Eagleburger.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the Heritage Ranch, 18244 Sam Bell Road, Bow, WA 98232.  Pastor Roy Swihart presiding.  Please share your memories of Clint and sign the online guest register.

Clint was about 6 years older than me. I first met him when I was 16 at the north west hound club field trials. He was always a nice guy and treated me very well. A few years later I went to work in the timber industry, and had the privilege to work side by side with him in the rigging. He was a very hard worker and took his job very serious. There was a few years that went by that I hadn’t seen him, until he came back to work for Nielsens about 6 years ago. Even though we worked in different divisions of the company, I still got to work around him here and there. He was still the same serious hard working guy that I remembered. I also had the privilege to meet his parents a few years ago when I was camping at curlew lake. They are great people, and I can definitely see where Clint got his traits from. I am very sorry for your your loss. He will be missed by many.
