Dale Lee Allen, passed away Friday, October 18, 2002 at United General Hospital following an extended illness. Dale was born August 9, 1932 in Clear Lake, WA, the son of Lee and Clara Allen. He graduated in 1950 from Sedro-Woolley High School. Dale entered the United States Navy on December 19, 1950. He served during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge on October 18, 1954. Dale married Irene Ann Johnson on November 21, 1956 in Clear Lake, WA and they have made their home in Clear Lake the past 46 years.
Dale worked at Clear Lake Shake Mill after being discharged from the Navy. Together with Ellis Buchanon he established A&B Shake Mill in Clear Lake. Later he worked for Skagit Steel in Sedro-Woolley. He worked for 22 years for Georgia Pacific in Clear Lake before retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the Skagit Speedway Racing Association in 1960-1968, the George Baldridge Post 43, American Legion. Dale was also a member of the Clear Lake Volunteer Fire Department, the Day Creek Chapel and the United Lodge #93 F.&A.M. in Sedro-Woolley for over 20 years, serving as the Worshipful Master in 1992.
He is survived by his wife of 45+ years, Irene at the family home in Clear Lake.
