Dale P. Holcomb, age 88, a resident of Country Meadows in Sedro-Woolley, passed away on May 2nd, 2010.

Dale was born to Charles and Zola (Proudfit) Holcomb, in Bluford, Illinois, the fifth of five boys.   He grew up in Greenville, Illinois, attending both Greenville High School and Greenville College.

He married Lorraine Marcham in Carlyle, Illinois, on October 20th, 1941.  Dale was drafted by the Army during World War II, and served primarily in the Philippines.  He worked in the pulp and paper industry, attaining the position of General Manager of Fibreboard Paper Company, in Port Angeles, Washington, and in San Francisco, California, and later as Vice President of Kamyr Installations, Inc. in Glens Falls, NY.

Dale is survived by his wife Lorraine,  of Sedro-Woolley, Washington; sons, Michael Holcomb and his wife Peggy, of Tucson, Arizona, and Jeffrey Holcomb and his wife Joanne, of Branchville, New Jersey; daughters, Holly Onslow and husband Denny, of Seattle, Washington, and Debra Eggleston, of Arlington, Washington; grandchildren, Stacy Jahn, Zola Madison, Christopher Eggleston, Samantha Eggleston-Wells, Jesse Holcomb, Corinne Holcomb and Ashley Holcomb; great grandchildren, Stella Lorraine Jahn and James Dale Holcomb.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Eldon, Robert, Charles and Lloyd Holcomb.

A family committal service will be held in July at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Washington.  Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel.

    Please accept my sincerest regrets in regard to the passing of your Father. He was obviously a great man to have had such a wonderful daughter. I’m sure he was very proud of you and your husband for the way you have lived your lives with so much community involvement and the things in life that you have accomplished. He is in a better place.
