Daniel Ray Wenrick, 54, a lifelong resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away at his home on Friday, March 16, 2012.
Dan was born on March 25, 1957 in Sedro-Woolley, the son of Richard & Annie (Knuth) Wenrick. He was raised and attended school in Sedro-Woolley.
As a teenager Dan began working in the logging industry, working as a choker setter for several logging organizations in the Skagit Valley for about 15 years. He then worked for several years in the San Juan Islands as a technician for Scanam Fish Farms, tending to and raising salmon, and then worked in the construction industry laying underground utilities until health concerns forced his retirement.
He enjoyed being in the outdoors and fishing whenever possible.
On May 28, 1984 he was united in marriage to Shirley Briggs in Mount Vernon and they made their home in Sedro-Woolley.
Dan is survived by his wife, Shirley and son, Daniel Jacob “DJ” Wenrick. of Sedro-Woolley; his daughter, Brenda in Alaska and son, Michael in New Mexico and step-daughter, Michelle in Bellingham; his mother, Annie Wilson of Sedro-Woolley; brother, Tom Wenrick (Lanell) of Sedro-Woolley; 3 sisters, Teri Spelhaug (David) of Mount Vernon, Susan Blizzard (Bob) of Big Lake and Christie Brink (J.R.) of Burlington; several grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Richard and Margaret Wenrick and his step-father, Bob Wilson.
Graveside services will be held at the Saxon Cemetery on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jim Cannon officiating. Visitation is available at and services under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley
