Dena Dee Hansen

Wednesday, April 20th, 2016

Dena Dee Hansen, 60, of Sedro-Woolley, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on April 9, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at Skagit Valley Hospital. She was born on December 12, 1955 in Sedro-Woolley. She was raised in Skagit County by her parents, along with five siblings.
She lived in Texas for a few years, and after returning to Skagit Valley, she began working at Sears, where she met and fell in love with Dean Hansen. Dean and Dena were married on June 27, 1981, and were blessed to have nearly 35 happy years of marriage. She was a very loving wife, caring mother to her children, loving daughter to her mother and stepfather, and proud grandmother of her five grandchildren. Family was her top priority, as she was very involved with her children’s activities, helping and volunteering in everything she could during their school years. She found great joy in organizing details, large and small, so her family could focus on enjoying themselves on birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events. Her attention to detail served her well when she later began a career in banking, as she paid great attention to the details involved with her job so she could be as efficient as possible. She worked for several different banks, and always found it very rewarding with all the friendships she developed with her customers and banking associates.
After she ended her banking career, she began to take care of her aging parents, doing that until their passing last year. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, camping with her family, taking small trips with her mother, reading suspense novels, gardening, spending time with her dog Mattie, her children, grandchildren, parents, and family relatives.
Dena was preceded in death by her loving parents Henry and Ilene Leander.
She is survived by her loving husband Dean; her children, Kortney McGuire, Brandon Hansen (wife Holly), Adam Hansen (wife Jessie); brothers, Don, Ron, Bill, and Daryll Nicholson; sister, Cheryl Cloo (husband John); five grandchildren, Skylan, Olivia, Lilyan, Z.J., and Scarlett; sister-in-law’s, step sisters, step brothers, cousins, nieces, nephews and all their spouses.
Thank you to Pastor Eric Wangen-Hoch of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and retired Pastor Laurin Vance for all their prayers, comfort, and support provided to the entire family during such a difficult time. As saddened as we all are of her sudden passing, we truly thank the Lord for all the wonderful and happy years we were able to spend with her. We love you and God Bless you darling!
Graveside services will be at Union Cemetery in Sedro-Woolley at 11:00am on Saturday, April 30, 2016 followed by a memorial service at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 1:00pm, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.

You were everything to me! It is still hard to wrap my head around the fact that you are not here with us anymore. But I will always be thinking of the great times we spent together over all our years. I Love You! Dean
