Donald Clive “ Don“ Price,  age 80, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

Don was born to Aili and Clive Price on October 20, 1934. He had an older brother, Richard Arnold Price and three years later was joined by a younger sister Virginia Lee “Ginny “Price.

Don and his siblings grew up in Burlington. His dad worked at the Price, Donald C.local post office. During World War II Don had a paper route and often shared what it was like distributing papers on D day.

He graduated from Burlington- Edison high school and went into the Air Force during the Korean war era. After a couple of years he left the service to return to his parents and his beloved Skagit Valley. He went to the University of Washington for electrical engineering and later returned to school to get a degree in education. He taught in Sultan, Concrete, Alaska, Neah Bay and Moses Lake. He was a math and science teacher, football and baseball coach and a principal.

Don was married to Peggy Price on July 31, 1971 in Triangle, Virginia. They lived in Alaska and Burlington. The two shared many adventurous times including scuba diving, flying, motorcycles, basketball and softball. They were married 7 years.  It was when Don moved to Moses Lake to teach biology that he met the future mother of his children, Elizabeth L. Price at a pool party for the school teachers in the Moses Lake school district.  Don and Elizabeth (Betty) married on June 27, 1981 in the Othello Christian Church. They had three children, Amanda Aili, John Clive and Haili Elizabeth. Don raised his family in Burlington and that is where they all reside today. Don is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Price; his son, John Price and his daughters, Amanda Bongiorni and Haili Price; his beloved brother and sister-in-law, Bernie and Caroline Baker; nieces, Sandi and Alison; nephew, Steven; good friend, Peggy Price; many of the Williamson family (a second family to him), his daily morning coffee crew and numerous other friends and family. Don wass preceded by his mother and father Aili and Clive Price; his brother, Richard Price; his sister, Ginny “Price“ Baker, and his granddaughter, Autumn Aili Bongiorni.

Don’s life will be celebrated at 3:00pm on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the LDS Church, 1122 McGarigle Road in Sedro-Woolley. There will be a small service followed by a celebration of life, food and a chance for anyone who wishes to share precious memories. All who wish to attend are welcome. Memorial donations can be made to www.curesma.org in honor of the disease his granddaughter passed away from. Thank you for your love and support.
