Donald G. Sanders, age 74 passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.
He was born February 19, 1934 in Everett, WA. Don was a resident of Concrete for the past 6 years and he formally resided in Marysville for a number of years.
He worked as a ‘lead man’ for Boeing for most of his 45 years where he helped build the first B-52, 707, 727, 767 and his favorite, the 747, working on the Final-Body Join of that aircraft.
Donald married Linda Queen on January 20, 1979 in Hamilton and they celebrated 29 years together until her passing in May of 2008. While raising their own 4 children, Don and Linda were foster parents for 11 years to more than 300 teenage girls. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to classical music and reading the old classics. He was a loving gentle soul that will be truly missed.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Debra Mefford and her husband, David of Concrete. 2-step-sons, Clint Queen and his wife, Linda of Mount Vernon, Eric Queen of Burlington, and a step-daughter, Rebecca West of Snohomish County along with many grandchildren.
