Donald Ray Pewitt, 88, a longtime resident of Sedro-Woolley passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2023 at his home.

He was born on December 3, 1934, in Hiwasse, Arkansas,  the son of Ira and Florence Pewitt.  Donald grew up with four siblings, one brother Carroll: three sisters, Evelyn, Barbara, and Wanda.

In the early years, the family moved a number of times, living in Texas, Arkansas, and Kansas.  In 1945 the family moved to Nampa, Idaho where Donald attended Elementary and High School.  He was involved in a boxing team.

After High School, Donald joined the Idaho National Guard.  Later he was employed by the Telephone Co.

Donald married Maudine (Loop) Pewitt, and they raised three children, Darryl, Sandra and Donnie.

He later met and married Mary (Karpinske) Pewitt, they were longtime residents of Sedro-Woolley.

Donald is survived by his children, Darryl Pewitt, Sandra Little; stepchildren, Cheryl Bice, Joel Kremer, Michele Keenan, Sandra Kremer; sisters, Barbara Keene, Wanda Belisle; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Donnie Pewitt; brother, Carroll Pewitt; sister, Evelyn Cummings.

A special thank you to Cheryl Bice who has given loving care to Donald the past years while he lived in an assisted care facility.

Donald will be remembered by his wonderful sense of humor and his love for children. He will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00, Friday, January 27, 2023 at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley, WA.  Share memories of Donald and sign the online guest register.
