Doreen Rothwell, 82, a cherished friend to many, passed away November 1, 2002 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley.
She was born January 22, 1920, an only child to Louis and Mary Dziuk, in Princeton, Minnesota. Doreen’s urge to travel brought her to Seattle and Boeing Co. where she worked as an assembler. While there, she met and married Kenneth Rothwell in 1957. After retiring they settled in Cedar Grove at Concrete and enjoyed flowers, fishing, camping and wintering in Yuma, AZ until Kenneth’s death in 1988. Donna moved to Sedro-Woolley in 1992. The Senior Center and pinochle soon became her hobby and filled her days with new friends.
She will be remembered by her special friends for her interest in and curiosity about almost everything, her ability to figure out and fix almost anything, and above all, her wonderful sense of humor and infectious laugh.
Cremation was in the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. At Doreen’s request, no services will be held. A ‘gathering of friends to share memories’ will be announced at a later date.
