Edith Belle McGehee (Pee Wee), age 84, a longtime resident of Bow, Washington, passed away on May 28, 2025, at Skagit Valley Hospital.
She was born on March 29, 1941, in Mount Vernon, Washington, the daughter of Clarence R. and Edith A. (Price) Esary. On April 4, 1958, Edith married Thomas McGehee, and together they made their home in Bow. She worked at Skagit State Bank for over 17 years and later enjoyed traveling with Thomas to various destinations.
Edith had a deep love for birds she owned several and found joy in their company every day. She was happiest when outdoors, tending to her flower beds and working in the yard. Gardening was her passion, and she took pride in making her surroundings beautiful.
Family and friends fondly recall Edith’s unique way of decorating. If there was a flat surface in the house, she would find something to place on it. Some may have called it cluttered, but to Edith, it was just the way she liked it.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Thomas McGehee; daughter, Debbie; son, Bryan; sisters, Sally Crawford and Nancy Rimmer; brother, David (Nancy) Esary; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ralph Esary; and brother-in-law, Roger Crawford.
A memorial service will be held and announced at a later date. Please share your memories of Edith and sign the online guest register.
