Eileen R. Faaberg Sorensen, 94, a longtime Skagit Valley resident, passed away on January 16, 2019 at United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley.

Eileen was born on April 12, 1924 in Oso, Washington the daughter of Jack & Mary (Hill) Costa.   The family settled in the Hamilton community in the late 1920’s and there Eileen attended grade school and high school, graduating from Hamilton High School with the class of 1942.

On June 19, 1943 she was united in marriage to Rudy Faaberg and they made their home and raised their family in Sedro-Woolley until his untimely death in 1967.

During those 24 years Eileen was a devoted wife and mother and she worked at Hal’s Drive In and at the Hub cafeteria at Northern State Hospital for several years.

In 1975 she married Cliff Sorensen and they made their home in Sedro-Woolley until Cliff’s passing in 1993.

Eileen enjoyed gardening and cooking, painting, riding an occasional motorcycle, and being with her family.

She is survived by her son, Stacy Faaberg and daughter, Sandra Brown and her husband Terry Gee, all of Sedro-Woolley; three grandchildren, Andy Faaberg and wife Suzy, Kelsey Conley and husband Matt and Piper Brown and fiancé Devin Osting; two great-grandchildren, Abigail & Arianna Conley and numerous nieces and nephews.  Besides her husband’s Rudy and Cliff, she was also preceded by her parents; son, Stan Faaberg; three brothers and one sister.

Private interment will be at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery.  Memorials in honor of Eileen are suggested to Alzheimer’s research.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
