Emma Mae Wells, 93, a longtime Acme area resident passed away on Monday, August 14, 2006 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.
She was born on October 1, 1912 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Arnold & Theresa Syres MacAllister.
She was raised and attended school in Minnesota.
In 1932, she was united in marriage to Paul Wells in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and they made their home there until 1935 when they moved to Washington. They made their home in Machias, Marysville and Everett, Washington, finally settling in Acme in 1972 where they made their home together for 21 years until Paul’s death in 1993.
While living in the Everett area, Emma worked as office manager- bookkeeper for the Everett Clinic and later worked for the Holiday Inn as a bookkeeper for many years. She also took care of her mother, Theresa who lived to be 103 years of age. She enjoyed knitting, ceramics and working a loom.
She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Dake and her husband, Charles of Bellingham. 3 sons, Jerry Wells of Bainbridge Island, Brian Wells of Lake Stevens and Philip Wells of Stanwood. 2 brothers, William MacAllister of Acme and Duncan MacAllister of Stanwood and numerous grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, Paul, she was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Douglas, Stan and Pete MacAllister and her sister Margaret Cook.
Inurnment will be at the Greenhills Cemetery in Burlington. Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
