Eva Anne Semrau Klevgard, age 102, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Life Care Center of Mount Vernon in Mount Vernon, Washington.

She was born to Theodore and Martha Semrau their 13th child on September 23, 1907 in Balfour, North Dakota.
As a youth, Eva lived on a farm in North Dakota. Her parents were Christians and went to church every Sunday. The family was very musical and actively participated in the church choirs. As an adult, Eva was a choir director for many years.

Eva attended State Teachers College in Valley City, ND and then went to Sedro-Woolley, WA as a teacher in 1928. There she met and married Vernal Klevgard on November 17, 1934. One son Vern was born October 30, 1937. In addition to her love and dedication to music, Eva liked to bowl. She participated in league until she was 84 years young.

Eva was preceded in death by her entire family, her parents, husband, and 14 brothers and sisters, Theodore, Francis, Selma, Headwig, David, Reuben, Felix, Jonathon, Bessie, Carrie, Enoch, Adam, Martin, and Milton.

She is survived by her son Vern and his wife Betty and her grandchildren, Todd Klevgard and his wife Laurie, Lorell Mallard, and Jory Klevgard. Additionally she is survived by five great-grandchildren, Dani, Linsey, and Hunter Klevgard as well as Jace and Alaina Mallard.

For those who knew Eva, she will always be remembered as a generous loving person and a true friend.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 2, 2009 at 10:30AM at the Central United Methodist Church on Polte Rd in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Marilyn Kallshian officiating. Memorials are suggested to Central United Methodist Church. Arrangements under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
