George Donaldson

Tuesday, June 17th, 2025

George Donaldson, 77, passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, on June 17, 2025. He  was born on September 19, 1947, in Munich, Germany, to George “Bud” Donaldson and Karin Hechinger Donaldson Owens. He lived in Munich until the age of four, when his family relocated to Washington State. George graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1966 and soon after enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving in the Vietnam War aboard the USS Galveston.

Upon returning home, George began dating and soon married the love of his life, Fritzi Russell. The couple settled in Concrete, Washington, where they raised two daughters.

George spent many years working in the timber industry as a truck driver before landing his dream job at Paccar, where he had the opportunity to drive and test brand new Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Karin and Ted Owens, George “Bud” Donaldson, and Christine Donaldson; as well as his brother, Bob Donaldson.

George is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Fritzi Donaldson of Mount Vernon; daughters, Nicki Donaldson of Sedro-Woolley, Traci (Doug) Reuwsaat of Darrington; grandchildren Cody (Sarah) Donaldson, Jacob Godfrey, Emmarae (Felipe) Valencia, and Lucas (Sydney) Reuwsaat; great-grandchildren, Rosalina, Hayes, and Whitley. He is also survived by his sisters Tammy (Ray) Ensley and Tina Goldman; brothers Gary Owens and Rick (Lori) Owens; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service with full military honors will be held at Hamilton Cemetery on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 1:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 PM at the Sedro-Woolley Eagles Hall. We understand this falls on a workday, so please feel welcome to come as you are—George would have preferred it that way. Please share your memories of George and sign the online guest register.

    Fritz, Nikki, Tracy and families.
My sincerest condolences to you all. I was so glad that I was able to see him at the car show last month.
George always had a smile on his face. And a kind word to say. I loved it when he would get that immpish little grin on his face when he was up to no good.
May George rest in peace. I know he’s now reunited with all those who went before him.
Sending you all lots of love and hugs.
