Shane and I grew up together as kids, running around Sedro-Wooley, causing innocent mischief and having fun. I look back on those days fondly, and I am saddened to hear about his passing so young, when he had so many years to go still.

I say this to everyone who knew Shane that even though we lost touched after we grew up, became adults and went our seperate ways, our times shared together as friends will forever be remembered. Go up and look over us that are still here to live on and continue to talk about you Shane! We will truly miss you!

  • Connie Battles

Charles, Esther and the rest of the Battles family is so sorry to hear about your loss. I remember Cousin Shane running around the house when I was visiting at a very young age.

We received a newspaper clipping from a family member however, the envelope did not have a return address. It would be nice to stay in touch with family.

    Sincerely,

Connie Battles and the other members of the Battles family

I never had the chance to run into you to say this to you directly but I forgive you! You know what this means and I will see you again someday.

Shane was a dear friend, and he will surely be missed. Much of what brings us together on this earth is Love and Shane sure had a lot to give. He was a Strong fellow, and he did a lot to restore my Faith in God and in man. He was there no matter what, and did not hold contempt in his heart for anyone even if he had a disagreement with them. He was always the first one to apologize if he offended someone, always the first to listen to a friend’s sorrows, and always had a hug even if he wasn’t feeling well. He was forgiving and kind. His passing was unexpected but I know he is in a better place, watching over us all. Shane was always speaking of the Lord and reading his Bible, which was something that a true Christian does in this lifetime; spreads the word and shows others through his actions that Love Hope and Faith are the 3 most important things for us to learn while we are on this planet. Thank you Shane for coming into our lives. We couldn’t have asked for a better Spirit to have been blessed by!

I’ve never seen anyone who was more concerned about doing God’s will and contrite/humble when he felt he had sometimes fallen short. I will remember this spiritual side of him and be glad I was allowed to see it. He was a good example of someone who would turn his will over and do his best to try to accept and enjoy the path God set him on. I also remember hearing him talk about how deeply he loved his family.

    Uncle Shane,
The first song I hear this morning is Guns&Roses “Knocking on Heaven’s Door”. Now I know you made it safely! =) I love you so much and you truly were the best uncle a girl could ever ask for. You will be missed greatly!!! I woke myself up laughing this morning. I was dreaming about the time you and Aunt Carrie had visited here in Missouri. Oh my, you would tell us about how she would talk in her sleep, and you weren’t a kidding! You video recorded one of her crazy dreams and had it as evidence for the next morning. We laughed and laughed and laughed! You always knew how to crack a smile on my face! Give everyone in Heaven my love! Until we meet again, please watch over us all here on earth.

    Yours truly,
    Terica Renae Stretch

I sure saddens me to see this. I remember you so much as a little guy. You had a heart good as gold although you weren’t to fond of letting others see it. You were loved and will be missed by many. Rest in Peace Shane Henson. I am sure I will see you on the other side..
