GEORGIA M. RIDENHOUR, 89, a former Whatcom County and current Skagit County resident passed away Saturday September 7, 2002 in a Bellingham Care Center.
She was born on March 2, 1913 in Puyallup, WA the daughter of Ernest & Florence Stone Monaghan. As a young girl the family moved to the Deming area where Georgia attended and graduated from Mount Baker High School. She was united in marriage to Robert G. ‘Red’ Ridenhour in Oklahoma on October 16, 1944. She made her home in Bellingham, working for Boeing, while Bob served his country during WW II. Following his return they made their home in several locations around the state finally settling in the Mount Vernon, WA area in the early 1970’s.
Georgia, in her younger years enjoyed hunting & fishing with her brothers and husband. She also liked bowling and playing bingo and being with family. She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 43.
She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Robert & Jean Clark of Preston, WA. A daughter & son-in-law, Kathy & Marvin Neil of Twin Falls, Idaho. 1 brother, Richard Monaghan of Bellingham. A daughter-in-law, Laura Ridenhour of Bellingham. 2 sisters-in-law, Barbara Ridenhour & Marion Monaghan. 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband ‘Red’ on Sept 8, 1997. 2 sons, Ray Clark & Ron Ridenhour and 4 brothers.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday September 10, 2002 at 1:00 pm at the American Legion Hall, 701 Murdock St. Sedro-Woolley. Memorials to a charity of your choice are suggested. Private inurnment will be at the Saxon Cemetery. Cremation and arrangements under direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
