GERALDINE GRUVER, 86, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident passed away peacefully at her home on Monday September 30, 2002.
Geraldine was born on March 24, 1916 in Coos Bay, Oregon, the daughter of Lewis & Millie Attebery Gruver. As a young girl the family moved to Wenatchee, WA where she was raised and attended school. She graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1936. In the late 1930’s the family moved to Sedro-Woolley and Geraldine worked at the Mount Baker Hardware Store for several years which her parents operated. Geraldine’s sister Marian says, ‘She was a great cook, and took good care of me when I was young’. ‘She was a most sweet and gentle lady’, say her caregivers. Geri always had a smile for everyone and enjoyed visiting with people. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sister Marian Gruver of Sedro-Woolley. An aunt, Phyllis Attebery of Spokane. Several cousins, her loving caregivers, Carol, Kelly, Melanie and Candice and many friends.
Memorials to Skagit Hospice are suggested.
Private burial was at Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery under direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
